Kudzu Weaving Classes and Twisted Kudzu Creations

Kudzu Weaving Classes

I love creating something useful and beautiful from kudzu vines. Mississippi has an abundance of this strong, fast-growing vine and it is perfect for making baskets and other woven creations.I offer classes beginning in late fall until mid-spring mainly because that is the best time to harvest vines. Most of my classes are available through the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council; but I have also taught at the Union County Heritage Museum in New Albany, MS and at the Oxford Fiber Festival which is usually held at the end of January. I provide all of the materials for my classes–all you need is a pair of sharp pruners and your hands! Check out my upcoming classes with YAC at www.oxfordarts.com or contact me directly about other weaving opportunities.

Twisted Kudzu Creations

In addition to teaching kudzu weaving, I also sell my kudzu baskets and other creations  at twistedkudzu.etsy.com and at local arts and crafts fairs. They will also soon be available for purchase at the Chicory Market in Oxford. Here are some examples of the types of baskets, trays and other creations I make:
